Training & Playing Facilities

Some of the Most Advanced Facilities in Scotland

Arguably, Scotland Boys Club – Academy of Football have some of the most advanced training and playing facilities in Scotland. It is fair to say that some senior clubs do not have the range of facilities available that we have in North & South Lanarkshire, and Rutherglen in Glasgow.  The main bulk of our students come from the Lanarkshire area and for this reason we have centres at Hamilton Palace Sports Ground, we also have use of the Bent Recreation Area in Hamilton and the Jock Stein Recreation Centre in Hillhouse and are now using the new Ravenscraig Regional Centre in Motherwell and the new Toryglen Regional Centre in Rutherglen in Glasgow. Most of these facilities have indoor and outdoor facilities and are mainly 3rd Generation (3G) Astrograss surfaces. Click here to visit South Lanarkshire Website.

Hamilton Palace Sports Grounds changing pavilion lies exactly on the site of the former Hamilton Palace. Located to the east of Hamilton (South Lanarkshire), close to Junction 6 of the M 74 motorway, these facilities  comprise of a number of flood-lit grass and synthetic pitches for football, rugby and cricket, together with tennis courts and bowling greens.

Hamilton Palace Indoor Centre (opened May 2007)

As part of a redevelopment initiative known as Hamilton Ahead, the facility opened in May 1999 and is run by South Lanarkshire Council. Adjacent is a retail complex and opposite –  a supermarket, which are part of the same initiative. It is one of the better facilities in Scotland and we are very proud to have block bookings within this facility to ensure the better development of our students. In May 2007, Hamilton Palace opened its first – third generation, synthetic, indoor training facility (see below). Scotland Boys Club – Academy of Football have use of this facility on a regular basis.
