Astroturf Trainers

Astroturf trainers are not really suitable for games.  They offer little protection, and on a wet or icy day they will cause slip or accidents and they don’t last.  They are fine for training but as far as games are concerned PLEASE, for your own safety, get Astroturf BOOTS !!!

There are a number of styles out there from Adidas Copa Mundial  to the newer Adidas Nitrocharge 2.0.  These are tough old beasts but will certainly offer greater protection.  I am also still noticing kids without shingaurds.  Coaches you MUST send these kids home without shingaurds.  It is just not worth it to endeavour an insurance claim in the event that a kid gets an injury.  Finally, as you may or not be aware, I coach each and every day in a variety of establishments / areas where poverty is stricken.  Some kids I work with have never owned or worn a decent pair of football boots / shingaurds etc.  Every week I hear of you saying ‘that’s me having to buy him another pair of boots, those last ones only lasted three months’…..and you throw these ‘old’ boots out.  Please pass these second hand boots onto me so I can pass them on to these kids who live in deprived areas.  Any sizes, and any numbers.  That goes for shingaurds too.
